Pare che il prossimo episodio sia gia' in costruzione, per quanto ho potuto capire stanno gia' lavorando al progetto e sono ottimisti, per il nono titolo di Tomb Raider Livingstone afferma che sara' una sorpresa per un sacco di gente e sara' in grado di rilanciare il franchising.
” Ci sono alcune cose notevoli che stiamo facendo nel prossimo Tomb Raider per farvi dire:"Oh Lara, ti amo ancora di più!"

Eidos President Ian Livingstone briefly loitered around the subject of Tomb Raider 9 during a recent interview with journalists while attending the Golden Cursor Animation Awards. The game is currently being developed by U.S. studio Crystal Dynamics and Ian Livingstone is undeniably optimistic.

"The next Tomb Raider, I think, will surprise a lot of people and reinvigorate the franchise. There are some remarkable things we're doing in the next Tomb Raider to make you say, 'Oh Lara, I love you so much!'"

Addressing comparisons between Uncharted and Tomb Raider, Livingstone says: "I think it's not quite correct to compare Drake's Fortune and Tomb Raider. Sure, they're single player character-based action games, but Uncharted is all based on one island and it's focused around combat, whereas Tomb Raider is not focused on combat; it's about puzzles, exploration, and discovery, and it goes to a lot more regions than one island.

"I think Uncharted, for me, is more like Gears of War than Tomb Raider. It's a great game, but I think Tomb Raider is a different league, and an equally, if not better, game than Uncharted to my mind."

Beh, loro son sempre ottimisti, anche quando è il peggior flop in circolazione! :lol:

Però se non smettono di produrre capitoli è sicuramente perchè al di là delle pseudo classifiche, è un prodotto che vende!

Comunque staremo a vedere e' ancora troppo presto per andare da Ian a tirargli le orecchie

speriamo che quest'ottimismo porti qualcosa di veramente buono allora

io spero sempre in una storia appassionante e coinvolgente come quella di Last Revelation, ma qualsiasi cosa tirino fuori, spero che non sconvolgano il gioco..
ma la mia domanda è un'altra..da sempre quelli della Eidos ci hanno detto che Lara è nata nel 68, e dubito che passati i 40 se la senta ancora di correre qua e là, saltando da una roccia all'altra e combattere contro animali e creature ferocissime (sempre senza offesa verso i 40enni ) a meno che Lady Croft non abbia deciso di rimanere zitella a vita

scemenze a parte, aspettiamo questi 2-3 anni e vediamo cosa ci daranno..ora è troppo presto per parlarne

bah...per me TR9 non si discosterà molto dagli ultimi;ovvero:
sarà breve e facile,pochi enigmi in cui si utilizzeranno sempre le solite palle da spostare(che palle) e percorso lineare dove l'unica difficoltà sarà solo sparare a qualche nemico che morirà subito.
Conterrà dei favolosi extra( sì come no) ovvero potremo cambiare il vestito a Lara,vedere i disegni del gioco e,dulcis in fundus: avremo dei livelli extra per il pc(ovvero dei livelli scartati perchè non c'era più tempo).

Insomma...per farla breve: mi sono rassegnato.
Lara Croft è morta con The last revelation e in TR5 abbiamo assistito ad una cerimonia alla sua memoria.
Da TR6 in poi c'è la cugina Larabella Croft che ha defraudato il nome della vera lara.

cmq in parte quoto, ma alla fine non è proprio un male..nel senso, che finora, a parte il 6° capitolo (che poteva essere un buon capitolo, dannato gameplay odioso!), tutti i Tomb Raider sono rimasti in parte fedeli ai classici. Ricordiamoci che se si deve lanciare un videogioco non si può fare affidamento solo ai fan di vecchia data, ma anche a quelli occasionali, che a quanto pare preferiscono più un gioco alla Resident Evil, GTA, o a quell'altro che non mi ricordo il titolo (quello della guerra, che si gioca tipo Doom, insomma quello lì ), e quindi bisogna andare alle esigenze del pubblico. E di conseguenza, sono pochi quelli che trovano interessanti gli enigmi ecc..ma in un modo o nell'altro, la saga è rimasta piuttosto fedele, si è evoluta (come giusto che sia) ma ha fatto rimanere quel tocco classico che caratterizzava i vecchi capitoli.

e poi, ricordiamoci che ormai la Eidos fa parte del gruppo Square-Enix, magari stavolta faranno qlks di meglio e duraturo, senza metter fretta agli sviluppatori, anche se ci impiegheranno 5 anni.

io non mi stancherei mai di giocarci, e nemmeno smetterei di seguire Tomb Raider, a meno che non sostituiscano definitivamente Lara con un doppleganger o Kurtis comecavolosichiama

Toby Gard è ufficialmente il nuovo Lead Designer per TR9

TOBY GARD LINKED TO NEW TOMB RAIDER

Toby Gard may have inadvertently shed light on a recent AAA project advertised by U.S. studio Crystal Dynamics in a recruitment posting. According to Gard's LinkedIn profile, his current position at Crystal Dynamics is "leading a design group for an unannounced project", quite possibly the very same project that needs staffing.

Earlier this week, it emerged Crystal Dynamics were looking for a senior art director on one of the most prestigious AAA franchises in the industry, leading to speculation that the title in question was indeed Tomb Raider 9.

Toby Gard, along with a team of developers at Core Design, were the principle architects of Lara Croft back in 1996. Since then, the video-game series has spawned a number of sequels, prestigious product placements and two motion pictures starring Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie.

Eidos is not expected to officially reveal a new Tomb Raider game until 2010. Thanks to Tomb Raider Forums for the heads up.
